Toni was my first born, coming into this world on the 12th March 1990 weighing 8lb 3oz. Always independent even as an infant, never one for wanting help to do anything. He had a beautifull smile and a loving personality although at times could be a complete rogue.
A keen judo player, he won two gold and a bronze medals while competing. His judo took a back seat when he hit the teenage years and discovered girls. He began training again when his wee brother took up the sport. He was a loving and caring big brother to Charles.
He was an army cadet and at this he excelled. I would deliberately double seem his trousers in order to get him to press them himself. He would spend hours organising his uniform and bulling his boots.
He never enjoyed school and could not wait untill the day he could leave. He began working with his uncle Christopher on the ice cream van from the age of thirteen, as Christopher was only five years older they were like brothers. On leaving school he went on work placement with General George Carpets and six months later secured full employment with them.
He was my rock at times and was there through good times and bad. I miss him every day as does his wee brother.
We played James (Laid) and Stone Roses ( Sally Cinnamon) at his funeral as these were his two favourite songs. Snow Patrols's open your eyes was played during his committal and I promised him that I would not waste a minute without him until I can be with him again in heaven. But when I walked through Heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."
Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.

But today will always last,
And since each day's the same way
There's no longing for the past.
Buy you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times
You did some things,
You knew you shouldn't do.

T'was The Night Before Christmas, He Lived All Alone
In A One Bedroom House Made Of Plaster And Stone
I Had Come Down The Chimney With Presents To Give
And To See Just Who, In This Small Home Did Live
I Looked All About, A Strange Sight I Did See -
No Tinsel No Presents, Not Even A Tree.
No Stocking By The Mantle Just Boots Filled With Sand
On The Wall Hung Pictures Of A Far Distant Land
With Medals And Badges, Awards Of All Kinds.
Then A Sober Thought Came Into My Mind
For This House Was Different, It Was Dark And Dreary,
T'was The Home Of A Soldier, Once I Could See Clearly
The Soldier Lay Sleeping, Silent, Alone
Curled Up On The Floor In This One Bedroom Home
The Face Was So Gentle, The Room In Disorder
